Why are Chinese coins with circular square holes?
Ancient Chinese coins are a highly representative form of currency in the long history of Chinese civilization. The most common type is a circular square hole coin, with the outer part symbolizing “heaven” and the inner part symbolizing “earth”, reflecting the ancient cosmology and order thinking of “heaven is round and earth is square”.
