The Vitruvian man is a painting painted by the Italian Polynesian Leonardo Da c. 1490. It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the Roman architect Vitruvius. This painting represents Leonardo’s idea of ideal human proportions. Its square and circular inscriptions come from the description of the Ancient Roman architect Vitruvius in volume III of his treatise Architecture. However, as has been proved, Leonardo did not represent Vitruvius’s limb proportions, but included those he found after measuring male models in Milan. Although the painting is named after Vitruvius, some scholars today question the appropriateness of such a title since it was first used in the 1490s. Leonardo’s image shows the Renaissance fusion of mathematics and art, demonstrating his deep understanding of proportion. “Leonardo conceived the cosmografia del Minor Mondo (cosmic map of the microcosm) as a large diagram of the human body that he made from anatomical diagrams and vitruvians. He believed that the way the human body works is an analogy to the way the universe works.” Through this bronze Vitruvian Man statue you may notice that the combination of arm and leg positions produces sixteen different postures. You can see the posture of arms outstretched and feet together carved into the superimposed square. On the other hand, the position of an unfurled eagle can be seen carved into the superimposed circle. If you are looking for a suitable decoration for your garden, then this bronze Vitruvian Man statue is perfect for you. Aongking can also custom any sculpture for you.
