Hermes’ duties in Greek mythology:
Bronze seated Hermes has many designs from different periods. He had wings on both feet, so he walked like flying, and became a messenger of Zeus and the gods on Mount Olympus, sending messages to the gods, and completing various tasks assigned to him by Zeus. Hermes is the god of borders and travelers who cross borders. He is also in charge of shepherds and cowherds, debate and spirit, poetry and words, sports, weight and measurement, invention, and commerce. One of its artifacts is the scepter, The shape of the Shang Scepter is different from that of the Medical Scepter. Hermes invented drilling wood to make fire. He also invented the musical instrument lyre. Hermes is also the inventor of various competitive games and boxing, and therefore became the protector of athletes. Hermes is also the guide god of the undead, he helps the dead to reach the underworld. In many Greek myths, Hermes is the only god who can freely enter and exit the underworld besides Hades and Persephone. Bronze seated Hermes is an image sculpture of youth.

Sculptures of other ancient Greek mythological figures:
The Athenian sculptor Praxiteles created the first naked female statue in ancient Greece, “Aphrodite of Knidos”. This natural and beautiful, curvy female sculpture changed the complexity of the early classics. The pleats of the clothing show the aesthetic habits of female bodies; works with similar styles such as “Apollo Catching the Lizard” no longer shape the image of a strong male athlete, but they represent a beautiful young man with a beautiful face and a chic posture. The body shape is even somewhat similar to the curvaceous beauty pursued by a female human body.
Bronze seated Hermes is a very classic work. The image created in the later classical period embodies the general characteristics of Greek art. Unlike the balanced dynamics of the figures in ancient Egyptian sculptures where one foot is in front and the other is behind, the center of gravity is evenly placed on two legs or standing upright completely, Bronze seated Hermes, “Hermes and the Child Dionysus” Works such as Aphrodite by Konidos have a clear character focus, and the vivid and natural dynamic image demonstrates the secular personality and the human-oriented creative spirit.
